American Councils in Tajikistan

For more than three decades, American Councils has connected the people of Tajikistan with educational, professional, and cultural opportunities in the United States and around the world.

From English language classrooms and university campuses to professional networks and community initiatives, our programs support people who are learning, leading, teaching, and creating change. Across Tajikistan, thousands of alumni of U.S. government-funded and sponsored programs are now contributing to their communities as educators, entrepreneurs, professionals, researchers, and leaders.

When a Tajik professional brings an international perspective to their work, an English teacher uses innovative teaching methods, a student takes on a new leadership opportunity, or a scholar builds connections between Tajikistan and the United States, there is a good chance American Councils has played a part in their journey.

Based in Dushanbe, American Councils in Tajikistan works with partners across the country to expand access to international education, strengthen professional and academic communities, and create opportunities for meaningful exchange.
